What is wrong with these girls?

Seven girls are facing charges in connection with a vicious swarming-style assault in London, Ont., in early February, authorities confirmed Friday.

CTV.ca News Staff
Young girls charged in connection to swarming

Police say a 19-year-old girl and her 15-year-old brother were attacked by as many as 25 teens on busy street in a commercial neighborhood of the city. The boy was stabbed in the back. His sister was beaten and punched by a group of girls, at least one as young as 12.

The boy is now recovering and his sister didn’t receive serious physical injuries. The attack has left the community and even police in shock.

"This is a very alarming, violent crime. Again the ages of the females were 12 to 16 years. They were very young," London Police Const. Amy Phillipo told CTV News.

The shocking assault may indicate a growing problem. A report by the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health released earlier this year found that violence, bullying and sexual harassment are rampant in high schools across southwestern Ontario.

It stated that there’s ample evidence that kids face violence regardless of whether or not they live in small towns or big cities. More than 1,800 students at 23 high schools were surveyed about their experiences in Grade 9 and Grade 11, and almost a third said they had felt unsafe at school at some point.

Recent statistics also show the rate of youth violence is increasing twice as fast in girls as it is in boys, and experts call that an alarming trend.

"We need to be concerned with our girls like we’ve always been concerned with our boys," said psychologist Alan Leschied, an expert in teen violence.

More and more images of teen violence are showing up on the Internet and many of those videos include girls beating girls. Last fall, parents in Montreal were shocked when an assault was captured on a cellphone outside a high school and posted online.

Those who work with teenagers in the city are taking notice. There is zero tolerance for violence for both boys and girls, said one staff member at a Montreal centre that tries to keep kids off the street.

Youth workers say that often times, community and recreation centres become a haven for kids who want to escape the violence that is increasing on the streets.

David Wolfe, the author of the Ontario study, has said schools also need to find ways to address abuse and violence so kids feel safe during every year of their schooling.
I mean with THE WORLD!

We are now living in perilous time where crime abounds everywhere. The best thing to do is for our young people to distance from the place of evil, and our government should do their best to minimize if not control the present situation.

Is physical abuse as a child linked to sexual addiction as an adult?

I have been seeing a therapist who specializes in compulsive sexual behaviors. I also attend 12 Step meetings for my sexually compulsive behaviors. My therapist is in agreement that I have a sexual behavior problem, and the therapist uses the term "sexual addiction" in describing my behavior problem. I won’t get into the details. My therapist asks a lot of questions about my childhood, and lately has focused on my father’s disciplinary actions, which can be viewed as physical abuse. Again, I will spare you the details. My therapist seems to imply that my "sexual addiction" is linked to physical abuse as a child. My question is how are the two linked? I am not into BDSM. I have my own theories, and I am interested in hearing your theories, particularly if you were physically abused as a child. I want to stress that I was NOT sexually abused. Thanks. Peace.

In some cases, yes. I was in training to be a foster parent a few years back, and that is one of the things they warned us about. Sex addiction is usually (though not always) a sign of a deeprooted need to be loved, accepted, and cared for. if a child is beaten, when they grow up they wish to hide from that pain and use sex (or drugs, or alcohol, or violence) to do it.

child abuse, emotional pain, clinical depression?

I have been abused by my father.
I have faced a lot of shiit stuff at home.
three achizophrenic sisters.

i am unable to study for 8 years. I can not concentrate. my Every day starts with a lot of never ending chatter , my thinking is clouded. It is all doom and gloom in my head. I feel so miserable and tired inside my head.

Where do I start. First off, yes you are clinically depressed and need help and I can certainly see where mental illness runs in your family. Your Dad is an abuser, your three sisters schizophrenic which is alot one family you know of course the schizophreic genes run in family but it does seem like you are depressed or maybe even schizophrenic/associative disorderYou may not be ablre to help them or be just a really sick family Even if you cant help them but you get some professional help before everything unwinds so get yourselve to a doctor who can help you . Good Luck and God speed.

What is the craziest form of animal abuse you have ever heard of?

Just recently in my town someone tried to neuter their own dog in their house, with only a knife.

I don’t get how some people act with their pets, but is there any animal abuse stories you have that you witnessed or heard of?

There was a link posted here yesterday referring to some crazy b!tch who made her puppy eat it’s own feces as a toilet training method.

Of course, there are many much more horrific cases, but that one wins my "stupid dog trainer" award.

Add: oh, Hi – I couldn’t believe that – that b!tch shouldn’t be allowed to have dogs.

im writing a sociology paper on child abuse and i need any facts or statistics

You may not WANT websites, but it’s YOUR job to do your research. There are good statistics available on both of these sites and they can be cited as good references.

What are the laws for childhood physical abuse?

I was physically abused as a child, till until 6 years back, by my parents. What are the relevent laws on this issue. This is serious, so no stupid replies please. Specially for the cops and lawyers. Please note, I am a minor without a lawyer, so need genuine help. Is there any procedure in court to convict them?
I am from India. I am afraid we have no Child Protective Services in my town of Jamshedpur, or for that matter, in India. If there are, I dont know of them or whether they are accessible. Please help.

you don’t NEED a lawyer. Contact the local Child Protective Services agency and tell them – they’ll handle it.

BE AWARE, tho – that filing ‘false’ claims is ALSO a criminal offense… not that I’m saying you’re not being truthful, but someone ELSE might be untruthful.

Where do you get help for emotional abuse?

There are shelters everywhere for women who have endured physical abuse. These women definitely need protection! But so do those who are emotionally abused. The abuser is frequently able to convince the abused woman to stay with him – simply by using the right tactics, such as making her feel like trash.

Where does a woman go who has been emotionally abused? The main thing is – where can that woman go to find people who will actually BELIEVE her, and understand the problem, and be able to help?

There are many resources available to women who endure emotional abuse, which can be as damaging or actually more damaging than physical abuse (not to say physical abuse is not as big an issue, I don’t want to give you that impression). Any domestic violence shelter or hotline should be able to give you references and/or help in handling emotional abuse. Since locations are not given where the help is needed, below are three references on line that can be used as guides. The last one will give state-by-state sources for help in the United States, if that’s where the problem is.

Best advice: If this is a repeated problem, and there’s no hope of it getting better, plans to get out of the situation are necessary. Do that. Good Luck.

Can Criminal abuse and Child abuse be concidered the same thing?

If in an article they say "Man sentenced for criminal abuse"

And another says "Man sentenced for child abuse"

But both articles are about the same case.

Are they the same?Or are they different? Why?

They are both criminal charges. The other one is just specifying that he was charged for child abuse.
