Do you think spanking a teenager on the bare butt is child abuse?

Its not child abuse to me. I think teenagers should get spanked if they deserved it. If a teenager doesn’t want a spanking on the bare butt then they shouldn’t be talking back to their parents and they shouldn’t be disrespectful and cussing to their parents. As long as a teenager is living in your house you should be able spank them. What do you think?

I agree with you on everything, Abel.

I find child abuse the most hilarious thing in the world. How can i control myself?

Should i stop reading into cases of child abuse? Am i wrong for thinking this? What should i do?

I read the other answers and I must admit, my first reaction was to be shocked and not want to respond. Then I thought a bit more and remembered that inappropriate laughter is frequently a response to something that horrifies a person, when they really don’t know how to respond. People laugh at horror films; ok, they may not be true but often have an element of truth in that the occult is unknown to many of us, but it is scary.

Recently, I was on a train, some people got on with a disabled man. They worked well as a team with the station porter, to help the man, in his wheelchair, up the ramps and into the space provided. He seemed to be speaking to everyone pleasantly and I was thinking how smoothly they had boarded the train and maneuvered the chair into place. However, I suddenly overheard laughter, then saw a group of people looking at him with their hands over their mouths, eye contacting each other and squawking away. The disabled man was definitely the reason for the laughter. I was really shocked and glared at them, fortunately they moved, but I really didn’t see anything to cause laughter, any more than child abuse.

I remember the doctor who had similar problems to you, in that he had to learn not to laugh when telling someone that their relative had died. There could be numerous examples of this.

My assumption that this is the reason for your laughter may be incorrect. However, as you are honest in saying that you find this is a problem, I do not think this is a sign of a sick mind but someone who needs to learn to cope with the problem of inappropriate laughter.

Do seek therapy, it could be uncovered memories of abuse that is causing this but make sure that you are speaking to a professional who does not make assumptions. There are some out there who are not good professionals, so seek advice on a properly qualified, experinced therapist. You probably have feelings deeper than you know.

Is it still child abuse if the one getting beaten is sixteen?

I was just curious…’cause, shouldn’t the sixteen year old should be able to get away, shouldn’t they? And if it’s a guy, it just means he’s weak. So is it really child abuse?

Yes, it is considered child abuse if he is still a minor. Also, it does not mean that he is weak. 16 year old boys are not fully grown. Most are not as big or strong as grown men.

How difficult is it to sue for emotional distress in a child abuse case?

The statute of limitations has passed in my state to sue for child abuse. But I am thinking of suing for emotional distress. What would I need to prove the case and how often are these charges taken seriously?

you could have a shot if you have proof

What angle or standpoint can I put on Depression or Child Abuse for my analytical essay?

I have to do an analytical essay and I’m having alot of trouble finding topics, my teacher suggested I do something like Depression or Child Abuse. I just don’t really know what kind of angle I can put on those topics, like somewhat an argumentive angle. Please help me!

how about the dangers of depression in children, because it is harder to determine. plus children/teens are more used to ups and downs emotionally, and hide or show them in different ways. they can’t just go to a psychiatrist; many times they are embarrassed or scared. or they dont want to worry their parents.

perhaps u can write about the dangers, mentally and emotionally, on a child who has depression. similar for child abuse; most are too scared or ashamed to talk about it, and how it affects them as they get older. good luck

How would I investigate child abuse by Catholic Church in Africa?

I would be grateful for advice with the issue of child abuse by the Catholic Church in Africa. Irish Missionaries had a huge influence in Africa.
I want to investigate if Irish Missionaries abused children in Africa and bring the abusers to justice. I do not know how to do this.
I would like to put adverts in African newspapers and websites calling for victims to come forward. Also, I would like to know if Irish citizens who abused children abroad can be punished in Irish Courts.

If you are actually concerned about the children, don’t neglect to check out Protestant missionaries, since such abuse is slightly more common among Protestant clergy than Catholic clergy.

How do you find out if someone in on the Child Abuse/Neglect registry?

I want to find out if someone is on the child abuse/neglect registry…..

I don’t want your comment or opinions, i am looking for answer. Thanks

Also, if someone had Child Services called on them in the past, does that mean they are put on the list? What is a case is closed? Does that mean they arent put on the list?

Will a person be notified if they ARE put on the list?

There most likely isn’t a list that is available to the public.

If the case is closed that means that the agency has stopped, for whatever reason, investigating the case.

What are the welfare needs of child abuse victims?

And how to support a child abuse victim.

Does anybody no where I can get this info from on the net I’ve been trying but can’t find the answers that I need or does anybody no anything on child abuse who can give me and understanding.

Well fair is for poor people who can’t afford to live without a little bit of help. You can’t chose what family it goes to and you can’t pick if it goes to a Child Abused victim. If you want to help a Child Abused Victim. Try Salvation Army Or even Little Warriors.
Most women’s Shelters have abused women and children. So it Helps allot to Help them out. At my school I’m part Of A Club called RAK (Random Acts Of Kindness) If you really want to support a child abused victim. Help out the women’s shelter because they need the help the most since they just got out of an abusive situation.

Is leaving your child locked out of the house 2 days of the week after school for 1 hour and half child abuse?

My friend ran away from home and now she’s back and her parents are suing her because it’s illegal to run away in virginia and I just wanted to know if it’s child abuse to be locked out of your house purposely for an hour and a half?

The garage is not heated, or furnished.
Thanks for not helping at all.

No, it’s not child abuse. Sometimes, people have to put up with discomfort and/or inconvenience in their lives, and that’s all it amounts to. I am very curious, however, about the alleged lawsuit you mentioned. Are you sure you have that right?

What kind of careers could I pursue that would allow me to fight against child abuse?

I am a college student that is trying to figure out what I want to do with my life after graduation. I already have a little girl who is the love of my life. I am so passionate about working to protect other children from child abuse and punish those who abuse them! I’d like to know if anyone can tell me about any possible careers for someone like me! I know social work is an option, but I really want the power to help these children. any suggestions?

social worker, teacher, counselor, therapist, criminal justice, youth advocate, lawyer, judge…

those are just the few that come to mind right away
