Do you think the catholic religion should be abolished due to the many cases of child abuse from many churches?

Look at how many cases of child abuse there has been from catholic priests right down through the years and nothing is done about it , what do you think should be done ?

Just try to abolish child abuse. Really. You’d have to obliterate humankind. Not just one group.

Why do blatant cases of child abuse get treated so lightly?

eg yesterday, "Man struck baby’s head while drivng" (from News). What is wrong with our system?

in far too many cases, the abuse is not believed……..another possibility is that outsiders think that family problems should be handled in the family

Another $660,000,000.00 was paid by the Los Angeles Roman Catholic Diocese for CHILD ABUSE cases . . .?

according to the articles in the papers and on this site:

http://www.1335.com/rome.html

Many other cases are pending. As long as people support such activity through financially supporting this filthy organization, how many more children will suffer do you suppose?

This filth will continue until the Messiah returns and destroys every last remnant of this evil religious false system called christianity, in this case, Roman Catholicism. This is soon to take place. Many children are permanently harmed on a continuing basis by this vile system. Not just in Catholic churches but in protestant as well. As long as they have doctrines which justifytheir continuing in sin, they will continue to think they can get by with it. The government is not gonna do much to stop it…..many of them are part of the problem too.

How much has the church paid out in child abuse cases?

In the past ten years.

Good question – lets see if pasting 4 pages of the bible will answer this one!

With the public outrage over all these cases of child abuse….?

and the seemingly huge failure of a system that is meant to protect the most vulnerable in society, how long do you think it will be before parents are faced with the prospect of taking matters into their own hands?

What would you do to protect those you love? Would you be prepared to fight against those that continue to abuse our children?

Do you think that a ‘vigilante’ approach is wrong, and the law should determine the outcome of such cases?

Your views please!

Is vigilante action wrong? No its the only answer since the death penalty has been done away with.
I just read Stephs answer to another Q were that evil scummy b1tch of a mother to baby P and sister walked in on him raping her kid and said dont do that.
Words nearly fail me.
If anybody touched any of my kids I would kill them then and there.
As you know Zoe the whole protection of children thing is something I am going thru now at home-although not on the same scale as baby P it is still neglect and as I told you if I saw Ebonys ”parents” I would kill both of them.
The law is crap–They will both get short sentences and then be released and the rest of us will pay to have them protected.
My solution is this–Release the whole 3 pikeys from prison and announce the date, time and place of their release and let the public be the judge.
There is another case against that b@stard as well-it said on the news last night that it is an even more horrific one-What the hell could be worse than what he did.
They all deserve to die and then burn in hell and I hope thats what happens

Sorry this a bit of a ramble !!

How is child abuse cases handled by law enforcement?

In court etc?

capital punishment is allowed in the home,
aka spanking, hitting, and so on.
if it escalates to endangering the kids life, call police
and if they agree, it will go to family court.

Does child abuse cases in your religion question your faith?

NOt anyone one religion -I am asking all faiths(although Muslim and Catholic faiths tend to have the highest percentage of kiddy fiddling going on)

it proves beyond logical doubt the bible is the devil in disguise.and specially when the priests and vicars try to hide whats going on and move the offenders to another location.these people are evil.im proud to say i will always be an atheist.

What do you think of the clergy covering up priests child abuse cases not just in Ireland?

http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1943125,00.html

The government said the investigation "shows clearly that a systemic, calculated perversion of power and trust was visited on helpless and innocent children in the archdiocese."

"The perpetrators must continue to be brought to justice, and the people of Ireland must know that this can never happen again," said the government, which also apologized for the state’s failure to hold church authorities accountable to the law.

CLERGY MORALS
According to The Toronto Star, the Ottawa archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Canada was recently ordered by the courts to pay $150,000 for failing to act on a complaint against one of its priests. The priest was accused of sexually assaulting young boys. The victims’ families “felt driven to seek a civil remedy because, having gone to the church for help after the assaults, they were shut out by officials, including the archbishop,” noted one lawyer. According to the Star, another lawyer stated that Catholic Church officials, on discovery of child-abuse complaints, have historically kept the priests in the clergy. He said: “Instead of reporting them to the police or booting them out of there like most any other institution, they have, out of loyalty to their own, just moved them around secretly.”

Anytime crimes are covered up it is wrong. But of all the cases I know in the Catholic Church this was not the intent. Certainly today the Church has policies that did not exist decades ago when these abuses occurred. I am pleased at the actions of the Church in response to these incidents and I pray that other ecclesiastical groups will follow the Catholic church’s example by contributing to the prosecution of these criminals and paying restitution to the victims. Even though the Catholic Church has the least problem of any Church or ecclesiastical group with abuse it has created a model for others to follow. While this problem existed decades ago in the Catholic Church it is currently happening in epidemic proportions in the Protestant sects. The Church has shown you the way and now it is time to set aside the rocks you have been throwing gleefully and clean up your own houses. Remember Jesus said, He that is without sin throw the first stone." God bless!

In Christ
Fr. Joseph

NOTE:

The priests and bishops who are accused in Ireland are dead and the alleged victims are elderly themselves. You can not have a trial and punishment for a dead person. One of the sad things about such acusations that happen all over the world is that the accused are not able to defend themselves. Thus they are assumed guilty out of hatred and prejudice of the Church that they may have served faithfully and without scandal.
