What are the child abuse and incest laws in Canada?
I have to do a project on Child Abuse and Incest for my law class. I need to know the details of what happens if someone is convicted of child abuse. What is their punishment? How do they get convicted? I would like to know anything about this topic.
I have read a lot about what child abuse is and how to detect it but I need to know what happens to the abuser.
It would be fantastic if you could give me some information.
Also on a side note do you know any sad child abuse songs or videos?
Under Canadian law persons who are related lineally, or as brother or sister , including by adoption may not marry. Incest, which covers sex with one’s parent, child, brother or sister (including half-brothers and half-sisters), grandparent or grandchild, is also an indictable offense and liable to a maximum of 14 years’ imprisonment. It does not include cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces or nephews.

If you have a law class…one would assume you have access to law books etc. Thus you can answer your own question best.
All of your questions are common sense querstions best answered by an attorney..or a law student..or at the very least..someone taking law classes.
